Can I edit the previewed file inside vifm instead of opening vim?

I'd like to edit a file as if the file is opened in view mode, but instead of just previewing it I would be able to edit it.

No, vifm doesn't have builtin editor and doesn't embed terminal applications.

If you find it inconvenient that editing a file hides vifm, you might want to look at terminal multiplexers or consider opening files with gvim instead.

If you would like to make a bug report or feature request consider using GitHub, SourceForge or e-mail. Posting such things here is acceptable, but this is not a perfect place for them.
